Hood Packaging is pleased to announce the addition of a new Nordmeccanica Super Simplex SL laminator to the Arden Hills, Minnesota manufacturing facility.
The Nordmeccanica laminator, featuring shaftless unwinders and a rapid change system, is a solventless machine that achieves lamination by using a low viscosity adhesive and a heated nip to achieve a strong bond between film layers. The solventless laminating process provides many benefits, including greater versatility, better economics, and improved environmental compliance with air quality regulations.
The addition of this new laminator doubles the laminating capacity of the Arden Hills facility. both the Nordmeccanica and the existing laminator, A Dri-Tec water-based adhesives laminator, are capable of laminating a variety of substrates together, providing a number of options for improved shelf-life properties, barrier properties, and appearance properties, among others. These capabilities, plus the increased laminating capacity, allow Hood Packaging to explore additional value-added plastic film packaging markets, which will enable them to offer more product features and benefits to new and existing customers.
